WHAT ARE DENTAL CROWNS?

Dental crowns, or caps, are a versatile restorative treatment. Crowns are most frequently recommended to restore teeth which have been damaged or decayed. Your dental crown will fit over your entire tooth to restore the tooth to its original shape and size and protect it from further damage.

HOW DOES TREATMENT WORK?

Dental crowns anchor to your original tooth and act as a new tooth surface, protecting the remaining pulp and root. They can be made of gold, porcelain or a porcelain-metal combination. The crown is shaped to fit your smile and fits snug to the gumline. We will generally fit you for a crown during your first visit then attach the new restoration at your second. In between visits, we can make sure you have a temporary crown to protect your tooth.

WHAT ARE DENTAL VENEERS?

Dental veneers are thin, tooth-colored shells which are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. They are custom-designed to provide a natural and long-lasting result so that you can enjoy a beautiful smile for years to come. Dental veneers are recommended primarily for cosmetic purposes, but they can fix small problems in individual teeth and in between teeth.

  • Whiten severely stained teeth

How do veneers work?

During your first visit, our team will talk with you about what shade you would like for your veneers and make the mold that will be used to create them. Once your veneers are made, you will come in for another visit to have them bonded to your teeth. Once the veneers are on, simply take care of your smile as normal and enjoy showing them off!

WHAT ARE DENTAL BRIDGES?

Dental bridges are replacements for missing teeth. When you lose a tooth, your remaining teeth can shift out of position, causing you to develop a bad bite and making it more difficult for you to chew and speak normally. A dental bridge will literally “bridge” the gap in your smile to keep your teeth in the correct position, maintain a healthy bite and give you back a beautiful smile. Dental bridges are typically anchored in place by crowns attached to the teeth on either side of the prosthetic tooth, but may also be supported by a dental implant.
